8/15/2007 » InformationWeek, Charles Babcock » In a report on Citrix’s agreement to acquire XenSource, Information Week called the virtualization market “red hot” and indicated the deal would give Citrix “stronger virtualization software credentials for new products that manage user desktops as virtual machines instead of physical PCs.” The article also spotlighted the IT industry’s current excitement over virtualization solutions, as exemplified by the run-up in share value for VMware, a server virtualization solution provider, during its IPO. Citrix CEO Mark Templeton was quoted about the huge untapped potential in the virtualization market.
