BizTech Gives XenApp 5 a Positive Review that Highlights Application Streaming Capability

Reviewer Jeffrey Sheen stated that Citrix XenApp “offers the dream of configuring an application, installing and testing it — just once.”

10/1/2008 » BizTech, Jeffrey Sheen » In the first review of Citrix XenApp 5, BizTech had plenty of praise for the new product version. The reviewer cited “noticeable improvements” in printing, the Web interface, and application load balancing and prioritization. He also focused strongly on the benefits of client-side virtualization, or streaming, for the end user and the IT department. Another topic of praise was EdgeSight monitoring for “proactive problem solving and infrastructure optimization.” Even the few disadvantages have been addressed by Citrix, such as the fact that XenApp 5 was built for Windows Server 2008 but also runs on Windows Server 2003, allowing a gradual migration.
